On July 29, 2025, the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine held a General Meeting of the staff in a hybrid format.
During the meeting, current institutional matters were discussed, including the need to initiate a competitive selection procedure to fill the vacant position of Director of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of NAAS.

In particular, Oleh BENDASIUK, Deputy Director for Scientific and Innovation Activities, emphasized the necessity of holding elections for the Director of the Institute, noting that the appointment of an elected leader would create favorable conditions for the sustainable long-term development of the institution.
The discussion also involved Mykola SYTIUK, Head of the Laboratory of Animal Viral Diseases; Yana KRYTSIA, Head of the Laboratory “Research and Training Center for Animal Disease Diagnostics”; Oleksandr ZHOVNIR, Head of the V. Ryzhenko Laboratory of Anaerobic Infections; Oleksandr TARASOV, Head of the Laboratory of Zoonotic Infections and Risk Assessment; and Yuliia YANHOL, Researcher of the Sector of Pharmacology and Mycotoxicology, Chair of the Primary Trade Union Organization.
Following the General Meeting of the staff, a session of the Academic Council of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of NAAS was held, during which key institutional matters were discussed.
Among the key issues was the attestation of research staff. During the meeting, the Chair of the Attestation Commission (O. Bendasiuk) reported on the outcomes of the Commission’s work, in particular presenting the Minutes of the Attestation Commission meeting and its conclusions.
The report provided a detailed characterization of the assessment results regarding the qualification level and professional achievements of the researchers, including a comparative analysis of their accomplishments.
Based on the submitted reports, all research staff successfully passed the attestation for the next certification period.
During the meeting, a new Secretary of the Academic Council of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of NAAS — Tetiana UKHOVSKA — was elected by secret ballot.
This decision was made in recognition of the significance of this position for the further organized and effective functioning of the Council, as well as for coordinating the activities of the Institute’s academic community.
