From 1st to 5th of February, 2015 in Yerevan (Armenia) took part the Meeting of the international project “Educational and informational support of the ecology and epidemiology of African swine fever in Eastern Europe: study and implementation of methods and strategies for control and prevention” for veterinary experts from the former Soviet Union (Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia).
The members of the Ukrainian delegation were Nychyk S. Director of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine (IVM) NAAS, Sytyuk M., Head of SRC studing of classical swine fever IBM NAAS, Nevolko O., Deputy Director of the State Research Institute of Laboratory Diagnostics and Veterinary Expertise.During the regional meeting there were discussed urgent issues of African swine fever, namely on developing affordable and effective ways and methods to alert the public about the threat of African swine fever (ASF). Ukrainian experts studied the experience of combat African swine fever among the participating countries and reported on the structure of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine, control measures and response system at ACHS that exists in Ukraine.
